Growing up, I never saw my dad without his camera. Family vacations, short trips to close places, he always had it in hand. Perhaps it was from this constant connection to photography that my love for the medium developed as well. At sixteen my dad handed down a camera, given to him by his father, to me. It was with this canon 35mm AE-1 that I fell in love with the opportunity of capturing life's brief moments. For me, photography provides an incredibly moving way to communicate the beauty that I see in the world around me. Whether it is the amazingly beautiful moment of a couple's first kiss as husband and wife or sunlight falling upon a woodland flower, I am constantly moved by the chance to commemorate the moment.
Now, fourteen years since shooting my first photograph, my love for photography continues to speak clearly through my work. Specifically, I love portrait and photojournalistic photography with an emphasis on communicating emotion. I am excited to share my passion with you all.
